Interstate is a font made by Tobias Frere-Jones and released in 1993. The look of Interstate was inspired by the letters on US highway signs. It is a good font for signs because you can clearly read it from far away and each letter looks different.
You can get a free download of Interstate Font here. It’s in the TTF (TrueType) Format and you can use it for personal purposes without paying. For commercial use, you need to buy a license.
